All new 2022 Benchmark and Reference Value updates for banana-growing regions around the world are now available from the GLWC and Anker Research Institute. New Benchmark updates are available for: Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ghana, Guatemala, Michoacán, Mexico, and Northwest Nicaragua. New Reference Value updates are available for Panama, Peru, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.
These studies have been updated to account for changes in inflation, exchange rates, costs of living, and policy changes since the original reporting. The reports estimate the wages a worker in these regions would need to receive each month to afford a basic but decent standard of living.
